Student Spotlight: Armin Bozorgi

For Armin Bozorgi, web development is most meaningful when it gives people useful information and a way to make a difference. As a web development intern with UC Davis Facilities Management, he helps create digital tools that make campus energy data easier to understand and use.

Bozorgi recently completed his bachelor’s degree in computer science and will return to UC Davis to pursue a master’s degree. His connection to the university extends beyond the classroom: he has worked at UC Davis for about two years, previously serving as an Orientation Leader and Orientation Student Manager before joining Facilities Management in February 2025.

In his current role, Bozorgi contributed to the recent revamp of the Campus Energy Education Dashboard (CEED), including features on building energy use and demand. He and his colleagues are now focused on improving TherMOOstat, a platform that invites members of the campus community to share feedback about indoor comfort while supporting energy-efficiency efforts.

“I love how accessible our products are to students,” Bozorgi said. “You don’t have to know how to code or do anything technical to see our campus energy data.”

That accessibility is also what excites him about TherMOOstat. Bozorgi appreciates that anyone can help make campus spaces more comfortable and potentially conserve energy simply by sharing their experience. The work reflects the kind of impact he hopes to pursue after completing his education.

“I hope to work on products that genuinely solve problems rather than just add to the noise,” he said.

Away from coding and campus energy projects, Bozorgi enjoys cooking and baking sourdough from scratch. His preferred kitchen companion is a familiar one: Avatar: The Last Airbender, often playing in the background for what he estimates is the twentieth time.
